´Fly me back to my wife right away!´ Kai Peterchen insists over and over during the interrogation. The assignment is a film about the myths and fantasies of moon travel: Dream Destination: Moon. Kai Peterchen needs money. His beloved Marie is in labour, and maternity care costs money. Only this job can save them.
He quickly buys a cheap ticket and flies to the moon to deliver the film. He has to finish the film in the space ship along the way. His employer from LunTourist increases the pressure by calling him via the commlink. Peterchen pieces together material from the Human Heritage Knowledge Centre, a dash of sex and finally one shocking picture, taken by chance through a scratched toilet window.
Travel and dream Images, illustrations of early journeys to the moon, an interrogation – filmmaker Peter Roloff mixes all the media. The dream-narration effortlessly combines different periods in time, stories, places. ´Peterchen´s Moon Ride´ is a film about the freedom of dreams.
