Bio-Filmography: ANDREA LOPEZ SAEZ
She was born on July 9th, 1971 in Santiago de Chile, Chile.
In 1977 she moved with her family to Belgium as a refugee due to political persecution. She stayed there until 1995. As a daughter of actors and directors of theater, she grew up in Chile and in Belgium in the middle of cuts, tours and “behind the scenes”. Always close to many theater companies but most of all to the big itinerant Belgian group “Les Baladins du Miroir”.
In 1994 she got the degree of Director of Photography in IAD (Institute des Arts et des Diffusions), Louvaina-The-New-Belgium.
Between 1995 and 2005 she lived in Chile and worked with the director Silvio Caiozzi, among other people, for two years. She also worked as a focus puller in some long-movies, in advertising and institutions. In 1996 she won the award for best photography in a short-movie (5:59 of Katia Gloger) at the festival of Valdivia. At the same time she worked as a camerawoman in some documentaries and as an illuminator at various theater plays.
In 1999 she worked as a teacher of direction of photography in several institutes and universities (Arcis, PROCOM, DUOC, Sto.Thomas, University of Valparaiso).
Since 2000 she has committed herself to dramatic art and has written 7 plays some of which eventually would be enacted, published and awarded . In 2002 she met the chilean playwright Juan Radrigán, who became her teacher of writing. For him she translated the play “Drunkards of the moon” (Ivres de Lune) for the festival FOCUS 20
