2009-11-06: Glimz AB closes film rental for consumers on its online service glimz.net.
Glimz.net started in 2003 as one of Sweden´s first web TV services, screening film for pay-per-view via the Internet. We have seen an exciting development since then, with many new screening opportunities for film being launched every year.
We did not want to limit the consumption of qualitative short film to our own web glimz.net, and have therefore since 2005 exclusively developed the distribution branch to deliver qualitative short film to the new and traditional channels which cannot prioritse resources to aggregate short film portfolios of their own.
Today we confirm this change by closing the possibility to pay to watch film at glimz.net. However, it will naturally still be possible for logged-in clients and film producers to watch all films without cost. Film producers are also still able to screen film to everyone at glimz.net, when they have chosen to let Glimz do so without charging the consumers.
It is important for us to signalise that we have no ambition to compete with our clients, and also to clarify our role towards all film producers. All films in the Glimz portfolio are exposed continuously for potential film buyers world-wide, and Glimz today has ongoing discussions with a series of film retailers in Scandinavia and Europe, which we look forward to present as agreements are signed.

| 2009-11-03: Today, the Scandinavian video-on-demand service Headweb.com and short film distributor Glimz AB signs an agreement for distribution of short films. Initially, 50 selected titles from the Glimz project Vision Out/In are made available on the new sister web site of Headweb.com, called Kortfilmer.nu (Swedish for “short films”), which is launched today.
Together, Glimz and Headweb will work to make quality short film widely available. At Kortfilmer.nu, the films are available to rent for between 5 and 9 SEK (0.5-0.9 EUR), and can be viewed in any ordinary web browser. The intention is to heavily increase the number of titles in the co-operation to a larger part of Glimz’s portfolio of today above 800 titles, and to establish new payment methods.
”Our goal is to increase the availability for film, and with this co-operation we hope to give short films better exposure in the film market. Glimz is the largest and smoothest supplier of good short film, and we are very happy to be able to offer Glimz’s films at kortfilmer.nu at low cost,” says Peter Alvarsson, founder, Headweb.com.
”We have followed Headweb’s fast development in Sweden with interest, and appreciate their innovative and user-friendly web service, which rightly has received much attention. Therefore, we are now happy to provide Headweb with content for their new short film channel, with highly qualitative films from the large portfolio which our close to 500 film producers have entrusted us to distribute,” says Johan A Larsson, CEO and founder, Glimz AB.

| 2007-06-29: Major short film initiative for Nordic broadcast TV
Today, Glimz.net, the awarded Scandinavian film distributor and film-on-demand service, proudly presents a new framework agreement with Viasat Broadcasting, the leading Scandinavian TV operator. Through the new deal, a large number of short films will be broadcast on the TV1000 network through-out the Nordic countries.
"We are very happy to co-operate with Viasat to start offering the wider TV audience the fantastic quality short films produced by the selected independent film-makers of the Glimz network", says Johan A Larsson, ceo and a founder of Glimz.net.
Through the deal, film titles distributed via Glimz.net will be considered for screening on TV1000. For all titles selected, films and film information and the necessary immaterial rights will be transferred digitally through the Glimz technical platform. Similarly, sales reports will be available for rights-holders through the Glimz.net VIP-pages. Titles for 2008 will be screened and selected by Viasat from the Glimz portfolio during the coming weeks.
"Viasat clearly shows by this deal that they are in the front of the development of digital acquisition channels, and are eager to minimise their administrative costs for aquisition of quality content", says Johan A Larsson.
Producers and rights-owners in the Glimz network always retain a large share of revenues from this and similar distribution deals, thereby over time securing a growing source of funding for new quality film projects.
"We look forward to developing further as the commercial distributor of choice for creators of quality short film art", says Johan A Larsson.
